Read us every week as we work to fill your self-isolation experience with a little more harmony!
Humber Offering Help
Humber College is offering free mental health support to students with tools that are easy to access. Call Good2Talk at 1-866-925-5454, or login to TAO Connect to talk to someone. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your body at this time. Reach out to these resources or a trusted friend if you’re feeling down. Check-in on your loved ones, we will make it through this, let’s stick together.
Spring is here, and the city is warming up! With gyms closed spring gives us the opportunity to keep up our fitness levels with a walk, jog or bike ride around the neighbourhood. Exercise will help improve your mood, as endorphins start flowing, and getting outside will ensure you get a healthy dose of Vitamin D.
If you are a near the Humber North or Lakeshore campuses, take advantage of the surrounding nature. Humber North has trails along the Humber River, at the Arboretum. Or head to the Lake, for a refreshing work out.
If you like working out with a friend, you still can while following social distancing protocols. Keep a distance of at least two metres, or six feet, and use your mobile device and headphones to have a work out buddy.
Netflix and chill is totally still an option. Netflix has an extension where you can enjoy a live chat with synchronized videos among you and your friends. Just download the extension from Google Chrome, find your favourite show, hit play, and create a link to send to your friends. This makes binge-watching a little less isolating, and will help keep us all safe from both COVID-19 and spoilers!
IHeart Radio Living Room Concert
Elton John and iHeart Radio teamed up to live stream a concert so people can watch from the comfort of their couch on March 29. Be sure to tune into the iHeart Living Room Concert, which will have Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, and many other artists performing live music from their home to yours. Viewers can call in to make donations that will go toward supporting health care workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
It all starts Sunday night at 9 p.m.on Much Music and MTV Canada — and since many of us have Monday off (yay) you won’t feel guilty about a lively Sunday night on the town (which is actually the couch), but you know.
Keep The Distance
Please keep in mind social distancing is currently one of the most valuable assets in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Quarantining can impact mental and physical health, but find hope in knowing you are making a difference. We are all in this together and until we can once again be set free, Quarantine Tips with Harmony is here to make the journey a little easier.
