Humber Polytechnic PR graduate certificate students are organizing a career-day event, called “Connections.” The event features industry communications professionals from a variety of sectors, including corporate, agency, crisis communication, lifestyle, government, non-profit and entertainment.
The purpose of the event is to provide PR, communications, business, marketing and media students attending Humber with insights and networking opportunities from industry experts. The event is open to any Humber students interested.
“Making valuable connections with industry pros is a great way to start building a career,” says Annette Borger- Snel, professor and program coordinator, Humber Polytechnic. "Having the opportunity to meet and learn can provide valuable insights on how to shape a resume, or prepare for an interview.”
The event is an opportunity for Humber Polytechnic students to discover possible career paths, expand their networks and connect with PR-industry professionals. Students will learn from the industry professionals through a structured networking activity of human bingo. The guest experts will guide the students through mock case studies. The event will conclude with an open networking activity. The event will be a day of fun and learning, games and case studies.
“The event is designed to provide Humber students with their first industry connections in public relations,” says Sharleen Mascoll, professor, Humber Polytechnic. “This will help them build a strong foundation for their future careers.”
“Connection” will take place in G building at Humber Polytechnic Lakeshore campus on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, from noon to 3 p.m.
