The annual Black Heritage Melanin Market brought many local Black business owners to Humber Polytechnic.
The Melanin Market took place on Thursday, Feb. 20, between noon to 4 p.m. at the Learning Resource Commons at the North campus.
The area was lined with tables of small business owners who showcased and highlighted the products they brought to display at their booths.
Vendors sold different homemade food, seasonings, natural skincare and body products.
There were also services like haircuts and tattoos provided by Trendsetter Barbershop and Tattoo.
Students were able to gather around and listen in on the owners sharing their stories about their stores and products.
The Black Student Support and Engagement (BSSE) resource centre has been organizing similar cultural events all month long to celebrate Black History Month.
BSSE will be hosting a few more activities during the last week of February.
